About us. The Market Creation Group is a fast-growing B2B marketing agency headquartered in Denver, Colorado. MCG was created by former business marketing executives who grew frustrated by the typical agencies’ lack of understanding of how to help market a B2B company.
We serve our clients in two ways. First, we offer “virtual marketing executives” who become an integral part of our clients’ businesses by leading both the thinking and the execution of the marketing plan. Second, we are a full service marketing agency built for the needs of B2B companies. With our access to many different types of marketing expertise, MCG allows growing companies to have access to the marketing expertise, talent and resources to go to market. MCG frees you from the need to hire expensive staff or risk hiring the wrong people.
Our culture is 24 x 7, geeky, flexible, disciplined, and fun. We RSS feed too much, we blog too much, we caffeinate too much, and we love marketing too much (at least that’s what our friends tell us).
Our Story. The Market Creation Group was founded with two simple principles: 1) Emerging companies typically don’t have the capacity to hire marketing, but need strategic and project resources on demand; and 2) Most marketing agencies don’t know squat about the business-to-business marketplace. So, in early 2006 Brett Schklar took a leap from the corporate cliff and formed the Market Creation Group. It didn’t take long to prove that the market was ready for an agency that understood the needs of emerging and growing business-to-business companies.
As MCG continued to grow, a few surprising things happened along the way. First, we found that by all the technological advancements in the last few years, we could build a truly unique company. Thanks to Skype, Sprint broadband cards, Quicken Online, Starbucks, LinkedIn, text messaging, globalization and Bluetooth, we are quick, efficient and lean, but most importantly, we have a blast doing what we do.
Next, we found that our technophile workstyle and business to business background was the perfect fit for our clients. It allowed us to be creative, thoughtful, responsive and resourceful for our clients without breaking their bank like a typical b2c agency might. In fact, we found that our approach actually encouraged our clients to do much more marketing than they had previously imagined. By the end of 2007, MCG had signed a host of emerging companies as well as three Fortune 1000 clients (646, 444, 90). The team had grown to six employees and a committed network of 14 loyal contractors. We would love to tell you that our growth was based on some really smart email marketing campaign or genius search engine advertising program, but our customers continue to give us such good word of mouth advertising, we just haven’t had the chance.
